About The Renewal Worship Center

As we close out 2021, Katresa and I are Re-establishing Renewal Worship Center (RWC), an earth & community healing experience for individuals, families, and youth living with adverse trauma and in need of spiritual and mental support. Renewal Worship Center ministry was founded in Denver, CO, in 2009 and multiplied. Our children were small at the time, and we desired to be back home in the Bay Area, so we relocated to Oakland in 2011. That year CNN and Fast Company. Magazine deemed Renewal Worship Center's ministry one of the most innovative ideas of 2011.

As a forerunner concept to Green The Church, this worship and community experience has been theoretically "Green" from its inception in 2009 and will continue in that vein. We embrace the three pillars of GTC of 1) Amplifying Green Liberation Theology, 2) Promoting Sustainable Practices, and 3) Building Power for Political & Economic Change in an effort to promote the will of our Maker and protect the health and well-being of vulnerable communities of color.
